Finding Meaningful Connections
As a young adult, finding connection is an important facet to life. But what many individuals struggle with is being able to make those meaningful connections as they find it difficult to express what they are feeling or even identify what that feeling is. Emotional connection is at the forefront of any meaningful connection and if that is a struggle for you therapy is a good starting point.
If this sounds like you, I’m confident I can help. I have struggled with this myself and know exactly what it feels like to be a people pleaser just to keep the peace.
Often, these are some feelings or experiences:
- Nervousness, restlessness, or being tense
- Feelings of danger, panic, or dread
- Difficulty focusing or thinking clearly about anything other than the thing you’re worried about
- Anxiety surrounding a particular life event or experience that has occurred in the past; a sign of post-traumatic stress disorder
- Struggles with setting boundaries
- Fear of losing those close to you
Therapy can help to uncover the underlying causes of your worries and fears, learn how to relax, look at situations in a new, less frightening way, and develop better coping skills.
